Synonyms:
Zn7-MT-1A/2B mixture.
Description: Mixture
of two metallothionein zinc-complexes
from rabbit liver [1].
The thiolates of the Cys residues are chelated with seven zinc ions. (One
of the apoproteins is
identical to MT-I, and the other to MT-II of those in the preparation from Sigma
[2]).
Species: Rabbit
Amino acid sequences:
MT-1A:
*MDPNCSCATG
NSCTCASSCK CKECKCTSCK KSCCSCCPAG CTKCAQGCIC KGASDKCSCC A
MT-2B:
*MDPNCSCATG
DSCTCASSCK CKECKCTSCK KSCCSCCPAG CTKCAQGCIC KGASDKCSCC A
Differences in the sequences are indicated in purple
Modified amino acids:
*) Met-1 is acetylated, and the thiolates of the Cys
residues are chelated with zinc.

Purity: About 60% of
Zn7-MT1A
and 40% of
Zn7-MT2B.
Molecular masses:
Zn7MT1A: 6583.07
Zn7MT2B: 6584.05
Form: Lyophilized.
