Diazepam binding inhibitor

Synonyms:  DBI; Endozepine; Acyl-coenzyme A binding protein; ACBP;

Description:  Able to displace diazepam from the benzodiazepine recognition site. It is therefore possible that it acts as a neuropeptide to modulate the action of the GABAA receptor. Inhibits the glucose-induced insulin secretion from perfused pancreas. Binds medium- and long-chain acyl-CoA esters with very high affinity and may function as an intracellular carrier of acyl-CoA esters.

Species:  Porcine.

Amino Acid Sequence:

SQAEFEKAAE EVKNLKTKPA DDEMLFIYSH YKQATVGDIN TERPGILDLK GKAKWDAWNG LKGTSKEDAM KAYINKVEEL KKKYGI

Highly conserved between species. See also DBI sequence comparison.

Modified amino acids:    N-terminally acetylated.

Molecular mass:     9807.2

Purity:    >98% by HPLC

Solubility:    Buffer.

Storage:    Freezer (-20°C). Protect from moisture. Following reconstitution, aliquot and freeze (-20°C).
