Synonyms:    Cd7MT-1A; Cd-MT-I.  

Description:    Highly pure metallothionein-1A from rabbit liver [1]. Noncovalent complex with 7 cadmium ions. Identical to one of the metallothioneins in MT-I preparation, e.g. from Sigma [2].

Modified amino acids:    All Cys-residues are in the form of  thiolates, which participate in the binding of seven Cd2+ ions. * The N-terminal methionine is acetylated.

Molecular mass:    6912.09

Form:    Lyophilized. 

Purity:  Contains 7 cadmium ions per molecule of metallothionein-2A.

Solubility:    Buffer.

Storage:    Freezer (-20° C). Protect from moisture. In solution at neutral pH and in the presence of oxygen metallothionein is sensitive to oxidation and solutions should not be stored.
