Description:    Zinc binding protein expressed in the mammalian brain, inhibits growth of cultured neurons and is specifically down-regulated in Alzheimer's disease. Noncovalent complex with 7 zinc. Recombinant protein.

Purity:    Peptide purity >98% by HPLC. Contains approx. 80 % of Zn7MT-3 as the major metalloform and approx. 10 % of Zn6MT-3, and 10 % of Zn8MT-3 as minor metalloforms  by electrospray mass spectrometry.

Solubility:    Buffer.

Storage:    Freezer (-20° C). Protect from moisture. In solution at neutral pH and in the presence of oxygen metallothionein is sensitive to oxidation and solutions should not be stored.
